WhatsApp dark mode is available for Android, iPhone, and desktop. You just have to update your app to get the feature on your device.
Android and iPhone have taken an interest in dark themes. This feature gives you the choice to change from a white to a dark background. You can switch if you ever need to use dark mode.
How To Enable WhatsApp Dark Mode for Android
WhatsApp mode for Android is out. You can turn it on with or without updating to the latest Android version.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp
Open WhatsApp and click on the three-dot at the top right.
Step 2: Tap on Settings
From the drop menu tap on Settings and click on Chats
Step 3: Select dark
Tap on Theme and then select Dark to enable dark mode on your WhatsApp.
Go to WhatsApp and tap the three dots at the top right corner of your screen. Tap on Settings > Chats, and under display tap on the “Theme” and select Dark to enable dark theme.
Android 10 and newer now support a system-wide display dark mode. If you’re using Android 10 or newer here is how you can turn it on.
- Open your phone settings
- Scroll down to Display
- Click on Dark theme and
- your phone will go dark
Users on Android 10 and iOS 13 can use dark mode by turning it on in system settings. If you’re using an older Android version, from 9 and below, you can enable WhatsApp dark mode. Do this in the app settings. Go to the settings to activate this feature.
How To Activate WhatsApp Dark Mode for iPhone
Make sure you have updated to the latest iOS version — either iOS 14 or 13. Then download the latest WhatsApp update.
Step 1:Open your Settings app
To turn on the dark theme on your iPhone, open your settings app on your iPhone or iPad device.
Step 2: Click on the Display & Brightness
On the settings page, click on theDisplay & Brightnessoption.
Step 3: Tap on the Dark theme choice
Tap on theDarktheme choice under the appearance section and your device will go dark. Open Instagram to use the theme.
WhatsApp respects the system-wide dark theme settings on both main operating systems. If you switch to a dark theme on iOS 13 or Android 10, your WhatsApp will also switch mode.
