    The process of restoring WhatsApp backup from Google Drive on your Android phone is the same for all Android device.

    If you already have WhatsApp backup on your Google Drive account, quickly uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp on the device and do the setup again.

    To do this, make sure you are logged in to the Google Account you created the backup on and do the steps below.

    Step 1: Delete and reinstall WhatsApp

    Step 2: Change the Backup File Name

    Now, change the name of the backup file to what you’ll remember without tampering with the crypt extension number.

    You can use this msgstore.db.crypt14, just make sure you do not change the number of the crypt extension.

    This is if you’re restoring from an older backup of your WhatsApp data. If the Backup is between 1-7 days there’s no need to make changes to the file name.

    Step 3: Uninstall and Reinstall WhatsApp

    After renaming the backup file via the Files app, uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.

    Step 4: Open WhatsApp

    Open WhatsApp, tap Agree and Continue. After that, choose your country and phone number.

    Step 5: Verify WhatsApp

    Verify your WhatsApp by entering the Six-digit code sent to your number.

    Step 6: Select Backup File

    Select the backup file found and tap on Restore.

    Step 7: Tap Restore

    Tap the RESTORE button that appears next to SKIP to start the restoration process. Just wait for it to finish and your backed-up WhatsApp data will be restored.
