Two social media giants have etched their mark in connecting people worldwide: Facebook and Messenger. This dynamic duo has redefined our online interactions and is a part of our daily lives.

Facebook was born when a Harvard University student and his roommates launched a platform that would evolve into the largest social networking site. Initially limited to college campuses, Facebook rapidly expanded its reach, becoming a global phenomenon by 2006.

A pivotal moment in Facebook’s history was the introduction of Messenger in 2011, a standalone app designed for instant messaging, further enhancing the user experience.

Facebook and Messenger are intricately linked, creating a seamless experience for users. Facebook serves as a sprawling social network where users connect, share updates, and engage, and Messenger offers a dedicated space for private conversations.

Both Facebook and Messenger boast various features to cater to the needs of their users. On Facebook, users are able to share photos, videos, status updates, and much more. The iconic “Like” button and the following emotive reactions transformed how users interact.

Meanwhile, Messenger stands out as a messaging app, enabling users to connect through text, voice, and video calls. The fun features such as stickers, GIFs, and a vast array of emojis add a playful touch to conversations.

In today’s blog, we’ll talk about something that concerns a little bit of both: If someone blocks you on Messenger, can they still see your Facebook story?

If someone blocked me on Messenger, can they see my story on Facebook?

So, the question for today is somewhat complicated: if a user blocks you on Messenger, can they see your status on Facebook? However, don’t worry; we’re here to make your online life simpler, and that’s what we’ll do.

The answer is no; if someone blocked you on Messenger, they’ll automatically be blocking you on Facebook and won’t be able to see your story.

Earlier, Facebook and Messenger operated differently; people could block you on Messenger or Facebook only. This means they could block you on Messenger, but you’d still be friends on Facebook.

However, as you can already tell, that’s not convenient for anyone. If you’ve blocked someone on Messenger, there’s obviously a reason behind it, right? So, instead of blocking them on both platforms separately, why not do so simultaneously?

This was most likely the ideology behind Facebook merging its blocking option on Facebook and Messenger. Therefore, if you wanted the person who blocked you to be unable to see your Facebook story, you’re in luck because they can’t!

Here’s how to block someone on Messenger

Step 1:Open Messenger on your smartphone and log into your Messenger account.

Step 2:The first page you’ll see is theChatspage.

Locate your chats with the user you wish to block and open your chats with them.

Step 3:In the chat, tap on the “i” icon at the top right corner of that page; this will take you to their chat settings.

Step 4:Scroll down to the bottom, where you’ll find the second from the last option to beBlock; tap on it.

Step 5:Next, you’ll be told all the ways in which blocking this user will affect you. Tap on the blueBLOCK “USERNAME”button at the bottom, and that’s it!

Likewise, if you block someone on Facebook, they’ll automatically be prevented from DMing you on Messenger. So, what should you do if someone has blocked you on both Facebook and Messenger? Of course, you need to be able to reach them somehow to make things right.

Well, the only option for you is to create another account and hope you can contact them. Still, the chances of that are pretty slim, so staying within your boundaries is the best way to fix this.
